Well, here we go

Welcome to No Lexicon Econ for College Students. I would like to use this space to explain different economic news and its implications in layman terms, hence no lexicon. Whether we like it or not, economic news tend to dominate the headlines of our newspapers a lot these days, and maybe it will encroach on our Facebook news feed sometime soon too. Though a lot of this news may seem far and distant, they do affect our lives and I believe it is in the best interest of everyone to at least understand, “what is going on.”

As a college student studying Finance and Econ, I have a good perspective to explain economic events to college students. This is not an Econ 101 blog where I explain the different terms, nor am I swapping terms like GDP with aggregate output; I will explain current econ events with experiences college students could relate to.

These similarities will help college students understand what is going on conceptually. Gradually, these conceptions will start to click with one another and the seemingly gibberish economic news will start to make a lot more sense. Before you know it, any former econ illiterates, will be able to chatter about economics with others and sound semi-smart. Who knows, maybe someday people will start to like Economics like me and spread the good word too.

Well, here we go.
